I think it’s wild that Christians don’t believe in Bigfoot. Most of them are out here praying that something as minuscule as the Waffle House not being crowded thinking that sky guy will provide for them and ignore the millions of people praying that have serious shit going on. They think god above is going to smite anyone who doesn’t think the same way as them, they think there’s an eternally hot lake of fire, they think some cosmic all knowing being is watching all of us and judging us every second of the day… but I guess an unknown species of ape that lives in the American forests are too far a bridge to cross?

2020-2024 was the biggest eye opener for me in terms of “godly” people. I watched people say the ugliest, nastiest things to others all in the name of “saving their soul.” I’ve seen mothers break off relationships with their daughters over a Facebook post that basically said anyone who is LGBTQ should be allowed to live freely. I sort of want to feel bad for that mom, her ignorance and fear has cost her a relationship with one of the best people on planet Earth who would do literally anything to help anyone. 

It kind of sums it up for me. These people are treating others like dog shit based on rules made up by their chosen imaginary friend. None of them can tell you why these rules are a thing other than, “well… God doesn’t like it! It says so in the Bible!” The Bible also says that Jesus ascended into heaven, so unless you believe the Earth is flat, or heaven is a dome around Earth, maybe don’t take a book that’s been translated about 300 times so literal and expect it to be 100% modern. 

Look at Eve, for example. Why the apple? What the hell did that guy have against apples? I’ve studied plenty of satanic cults that see this as Lucifer trying to warn Eve how controlling god is. I have to agree. Especially when I see a prominent figure at a local mega church making a social media post about calling the police about a homeless person sleeping in the church’s parking lot. They let the creep who set up his phone to film a stranger in their bathroom in the hotel room next to his play the drums every week, but like Bigfoot, homeless people seeking help is a step too far. 

I may be a little pissed off about seeing all of the “California is burning because of God’s wrath!” posts, but honestly, you should be too. This is a base of people who all went out everyday and broadcasted their undying love for a man who promoted hate groups, is a rapist, is a convicted felon, all because they think he’s going to put an end to women being able to abort their child after it’s born. The fact that they have never actually done any research into the issue they’re so passionate about isn’t lost on me, they do the same thing with the Bible. They preach until they’re blue in the face about how wrong and terrible everything is because some strange little man at the local church told them the Bible said it. It’s genuinely the OG form of old people on Facebook sharing AI images. Yeah, Tina, I’m sure that that picture of a pile of babies in a feeding area at the zoo with Joe Biden holding a lion on a leash is real. 

Its discouraging to go out into the world and try to be kind and compassionate to everyone around me when I know I’m standing next to a guy with a MAGA hat on and a rebel flag on his truck. This asshole preaches to everyone about how much he loves everyone, but doesn’t even take a moment to self reflect about how the only people he truly loves are the men who think the exact same as him, and the women who submit to those men. 

I always heard about this damn lake of fire. When I look at the state of what heaven is going to be, do I want to even go to a place where we sing praises to a guy who told an entire population of people that I don’t deserve to live? 

The mental gymnastics that someone has to go through to think that people deserve what is happening in California because they don’t follow some rule that you decided to follow is evil. It’s more evil than the books they ban, it’s more evil than the abortions they’re terrified of, it’s more evil than… well… basically anything. 

You’re using god as a bully. You’re expecting god to bully any son of a bitch bastard that dare to not live in a way that makes you comfortable. 

I’ll be so stoked when the “rapture” finally hits, but I believe there’s a better chance of me seeing Blondie do their version in my backyard than the one they’re always on about. 

I strive daily to be the best person I can be for the world and those around me without expecting some sort of award or praise. That’s what we should all do. It doesn’t matter what someone else is doing. If they can do what they enjoy without harming someone else’s life, great, awesome. I think everyone says they feel this way, but then they follow it up with some bullshit like “I don’t care if they’re gay, just don’t try it with me!”

Why’s that, Kevin? Is it because you don’t want to be treated the way you and your bros have been treating women your whole life?

Timer went off before I could get into the reinforcing gender traditions using guilt of it all. Bummer. That prolly needs a whole twenty minutes anyway. 

Buy someone garlic bread and tell them you love them this week. Do it without expecting them to give a shit about you. Be kind to that person who you know is using you while also standing firm so you aren’t being used. Both are possible. Do good things without the promise of paradise after you die or the fear of hell. I promise you it’s possible, and it will change the world around you.
